IKEA to Lulu, Noida ink deals worth Rs 7.9 lakh crore

Noida is all set to experience a new wave of entertainment. The city has emerged as a top destination for investors in the country. Companies like M3M, Godrej, Adani, Lulu Group and IKEA have shown keen interest in the investment opportunity. Around 1,333 MoU have been signed by international as well as domestic companies which makes the investment worth Rs 7.85 lac.

The three top developmental authorities i.e Yamuna Expressway, Greater Noida and Noida operate in the city has signed an MoU worth Rs 1.03 lakh crore. Greater Noida Authority has signed 110 MoUs worth Rs 74,000 crore, and Noida Authority has signed 362 MoUs worth Rs 88,500 crore. 

Noida Authority OSD Avinash Tripathi stated, “The Adani Group will be given land in DNGIR as over 200 acres of land has been sought for setting up a warehouse. For companies needing huge parcels of land, DNGIR is a good option for the investors.” 

He also added- “The UAE-based Lulu Group has signed an MoU of Rs 2,500 crore for opening a mall in Noida. Besides, IKEA has pledged an investment of Rs 4,300 crore while Godrej which has been allotted plots for developing two group housing societies will make an investment of Rs 2,400 crore,”

The Adani Group has also sought 700 acres of land near the Jewar airport to develop an industrial and warehousing complex with a commitment to invest Rs 5,500 crore in the project. Besides, 250 acres have been sought for setting up a skill-development centre in the YEIDA region. However, a final decision has not yet been taken on them. More than 1,300 industrial units are expected to become operational in the next five years in DNGIR. Altogether DGNIR is expected to see an investment of over Rs 5 lakh crore over four phases and generate over 10.2 lakh jobs. 

M3M India, a real estate company has obtained a land of 13 acres in Noida that is all set to invest Rs 7,500 crore. Over 18 companies are ready to with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore in Noida. 

Anil Kumar, deputy commissioner (industries), Noida stated- “The district has received intents of over Rs 9.29 lakh crore from 1,369 investors, promising to generate over 24.77 lakh jobs. Of these intents, 1,333 MoUs worth Rs 7.85 lakh have been signed.”

YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said, “The roadshows held in India and abroad in the run-up to the Summit helped in advertising the Authority to the world. As a result, companies from Japan, Korea, Sweden and Denmark among others have shown eagerness in setting up not only factories but also industrial townships in coming years.”
