Illegal English liquor coming from Haryana in a big amount for UP Panchayat Elections – Sources
In the wake of Holi and Panchayat elections, the process of liquor smuggling and hoarding has intensified in the state. Large-scale illegal English liquor is being brought from the neighboring state of Haryana these days. Excise and police department enforcement teams are also patrolling it.
According to departmental officials, due to reduced excise duty in Haryana, English liquor is 25 to 30 percent cheaper than UP. That is why smugglers have started trying to meet the consumption of the needy in the Holi and Panchayat elections with this cheap English liquor of Haryana.
In order of the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhusreddy and Excise Commissioner P. Guruprasad, the Enforcement Unit of Meerut Excise posted a Tata S Gold Number H.R. 69 D. 9816 Seized 115 cases of Haryana made foreign liquor by vehicle. The accused Raj Pal Putra Sube Singh resident of Sonipat Haryana was arrested.
Badaun’s Excise team, in collaboration with the police, has seized 1158 packaged foreign liquor manufactured in Haryana from truck number HR68-9328. There were no papers on the car. A total of three persons, including the driver, were arrested and lodged in the FIR under the Excise Act and IPC and sent to jail.
