In the last few days, there have been several private video leaks of prominent Pakistani influencers and content creators.
One such prominent personality is Imsha Rehman, whose private videos were leaked on the internet. However, her ordeals have not ended, and she is now receiving death threats.
Imsha Rehman Breaks Silence on Fake Video Scandal
Imsha Rehman‘s private videos were leaked some time back and became viral on social media. However, the videos were fake and morphed.
After staying offline for months due to the stigma and the distress caused by the fake explicit video scandal, Imsha has finally broken her silence. In a recent interview, she stated that the doctored video leak had destroyed her life completely.
She also mentioned that she is not able to pursue her studies and attend college. She also revealed that she has been receiving death threats.
Rehman also derided the social media users who create such fake videos or personas and spread them online. These mischief-makers do not understand the impact such fake videos have on the lives of the victims.
Pakistani TikToker Imsha Rehman deactivated her social media accounts last November after inappropriate videos of the content creator became viral on the internet.
She made her first appearance in an interview given to Nukta Pakistan on January 30. She had obscured her face with a mask and a hoodie and tearfully recounted how the incident had taken a devastating emotional and psychological toll on her.
Rehman said,
“I saw the video. It was like my life was over. I can’t go to university. I can’t face people. I am getting a lot of death threats.”
She also added,
“There are some on social media who think it’s cool to create videos of people and post them online. But they don’t think of how it will affect the lives of people.”
Rehman has chosen to remain away from social media but is not going to take the matter lying down and is taking legal action. She explained that when the fake video went viral, she could have clarified it, but she preferred to take legal action.
The case is being handled by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The FIA has in a statement confirmed that they have arrested a suspect, Abdul Aziz from Gujranwala, for allegedly creating and distributing the doctored videos. Abdul Aziz, however, stated that he wanted to create a meme. Further details in the investigation are awaited.
