In 10 years, Apple earned $1.65 trillion from iPhone sales: Report

Tech giant Apple has seen record-breaking sales revenue from its iPhone over the past decade, grossing a whopping $1.65 trillion, according to a new report. Last year alone, the company shipped 235 million iPhones worldwide, and 35% of all smartphone users own an iPhone. Apple’s total iPhone shipments in the past decade have reached 2.3 billion, making it the most-used smartphone globally in 2023.

The report, presented by AltIndex.com, revealed that Apple’s iPhone sales have shown a 53% increase in sold units, from 153.4 million in 2013 to 235 million in 2023. This impressive growth has solidified the iPhone’s position as a crucial product for Apple, with its share in the company’s revenue constantly growing over the years. In fact, in the first quarter of FY 2024, iPhone sales accounted for 58% of Apple’s total revenue, compared to just a quarter in Q1 FY 2009.

The report also highlighted the significant increase in iPhone annual sales revenue over the past 10 years. In FY 2014, Apple grossed $101.9 billion from iPhone sales, which nearly doubled to $166.2 billion four years later. Despite a revenue drop in FY 2019 and FY 2020 due to the pandemic, iPhone sales experienced a resurgence in FY 2021, jumping by almost 40% year-over-year and hitting $191.9 billion.

Apple’s success with the iPhone has outshined its biggest rival, Samsung, which shipped 800 million fewer smartphones than Apple in the past decade. This dominance in sales and usage has cemented Apple’s position as a leader in the global smartphone market.

With such impressive numbers and consistent growth, it’s clear that the iPhone continues to be a driving force behind Apple’s success and a key contributor to its revenue. As Apple continues to innovate and release new iPhone models, it’s likely that the company’s iPhone sales revenue will only continue to soar in the years to come.
