India issues recall for transmission update on New-gen Toyota Land Cruiser LC300
Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 Recalled in India for Transmission Update
Toyota has issued a voluntary recall for the Land Cruiser LC300 luxury SUV in India. The affected models need to be brought in to update the automatic transmission ECU. The recall affects 269 units of the Land Cruiser LC300 manufactured between February 12, 2021, and February 1, 2023.
The recall will see users bring their Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 back to the service stations to reprogram the 10-speed automatic transmission on the luxury SUV. The LC300, first sold in 2021, was officially launched in India at the end of 2022, although it was brought to India by private importers.
Toyota has further revealed that there were no reported cases related to the affected part on the recalled units of the Land Cruiser. The company will contact individual customers as part of the recall campaign, but alternatively, customers can contact their nearest Toyota dealer to address any concerns.
The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is a flagship SUV with a 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine tuned for 305 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also includes features such as six driving modes, a four-zone climate control, LED lighting, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser continues to command a long waiting period globally and holds a hefty price tag of ₹2.10 crore (ex-showroom) in India. It arrives as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and competes with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift, Range Rover, and more.
