India welcomes the arrival of the world’s fastest charging electric 3-wheeler

New Delhi, April 12 (IANS) – India witnessed the launch of the world’s fastest-charging passenger electric three-wheeler on Friday, in a move towards electric mobility. The ‘OSM Stream City Qik’ EV, priced at Rs 3,24,999, can charge from zero to 100 per cent in just 15 minutes on Exponent Energy’s rapid charging network.

Omega Seiki Mobility partnered with Exponent Energy to introduce this electric three-wheeler with rapid-charging capabilities. Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, emphasized that the Qik’s efficiency ensures financial gains for drivers, reducing downtime on the road.

The vehicle, with a warranty of 2 lakh kms or five years, boasts an 8.8 kWh proprietary battery pack and offers a city drive range of 126 kms on a single charge. Exponent Energy plans to deploy 100 charging stations in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru this year, expanding to other cities like Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

Arun Vinayak, Co-founder and CEO of Exponent Energy, highlighted the dual benefit of maximum revenue and lower cost for users of the Exponent-powered EV. In January, sales of passenger three-wheelers in India exceeded 53,537 units, reflecting a growing market for electric vehicles in the country.
