Indian Ambassador expresses gratitude to Ishikawa Governor for supporting Indian citizens affected by earthquake
Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, expressed gratitude to Ishikawa Governor Hiroshi Hase for aid given to Indians after a 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit Noto Peninsula. The disaster claimed hundreds of lives and left many homeless, with 75,000 homes damaged.
During his visit to Ishikawa Prefecture, Ambassador George conveyed condolences for loss of lives and thanked for assistance extended to Indians. The Indian Embassy in Japan highlighted India’s solidarity with Ishikawa and Japan in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed solidarity with Japan and its people in a letter to Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida. PM Modi conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families and stated that India stands with Japan during this challenging time.
Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki of Japan appreciated India’s support and expressed gratitude for sincere condolences and prayers received from the Indian community. The exchange of mutual support between the two nations underscores the strong bond shared during times of crisis.
Ambassador George’s meeting with Governor Hase coincides with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s upcoming visit to Japan for the 16th India-Japan Foreign Ministers Strategic Dialogue from March 6-8. The diplomatic engagements underscore the importance of collaboration and support between India and Japan in times of need.
