Indian Deaf Cricket team gears up for DICC T20 World Cup 2024 in Sharjah

The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has finalized the 15-man team for the DICC T20 Champions Trophy 2024 in Sharjah. Captain Virendra Singh will lead the team, with coach Dev Dutt and trainer Mohd Mashaur guiding them. The new jersey was unveiled in a ceremony attended by cricket and corporate dignitaries.

Teams from six countries will compete in Sharjah for the world title, with the final matches scheduled for March 12. IDCA President Sumit Jain expressed the team’s determination to win the championship again and thanked support partners for their commitment to promoting the sport among specially-abled individuals.

Roma Balwani, CEO of IDCA, highlighted the importance of the DICC T20 World Cup in showcasing the skills of specially-abled players. Patron Reena Jain Malhotra expressed support for the team and wished them success in bringing home the trophy. The Indian Deaf Cricket Team lineup includes players such as Sai Akash and Umar Ashraf.

The team has been preparing for months and is ready to compete at the global level in Sharjah. The DICC T20 World Cup serves as a platform for specially-abled players to showcase their talent and skills.
