Indonesian Army Issues Apology for Explosion at Military Complex

The Indonesian Army apologizes for a massive explosion at a military complex near Jakarta, which occurred at an ammunition warehouse in Ciangsana village, Bogor Regency, West Java province. No casualties reported, 135 families evacuated. Chief of Staff promises review of ammunition storage mechanism and compensation for damaged houses.

Maruli Simanjuntak, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, visited the site and apologized to nearby communities for the incident. The exploded warehouse stored expired ammunition for destruction. Military chief Agus Subiyanto vowed to compensate residents whose houses were damaged. Investigation into the explosion’s cause is ongoing.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to the nearby communities and promise to review and improve our ammunition storage systems to prevent such incidents in the future,” stated Maruli Simanjuntak, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army.
