INLD's unit chief, ex-MLA Rathee shot dead in Haryana's Jhajjar (Lead)
The Indian National Lok Dal’s Haryana unit President and former legislator Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead in an attack by unidentified assailants in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district on Sunday evening. Two others died and two are critically injured. The cause of the crime is suspected to be a property dispute.
Rathee, a two-time legislator, was travelling in an SUV when he was shot at by assailants in a car. The injured were taken to Brahm Shakti Sanjivani Hospital, where Rathee was declared dead on arrival. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi are suspected to be behind the attack.
INLD leader Abhay Chautala blamed the BJP-JJP government for not providing security to Rathee despite threats. He demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij. Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Superintendent of Police, Arpit Jain, stated that the Crime Intelligence Agency (CIA) and STF teams have initiated an investigation into the case. INLD spokesperson Rakesh Sihag confirmed the details of the attack and mentioned that another party activist, Jaikishan, was also among the deceased.
