Intern at KGMU killed in tragic accident with truck in Lucknow

Lucknow, April 2 (IANS) – Dr Dikshanvita Anand, a dental intern at KGMU, was tragically killed in a road accident on IIM road while on her way to the medical university. The incident occurred as she was riding her two-wheeler near her house.

The victim, a 2019 batch BDS student, lost her life at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck involved in the incident escaped while the authorities seized the vehicle, according to the police.

Dr Anand Kumar, the father of the deceased, filed an FIR in connection with the incident. He is a government employee stationed in Alamnagar. KGMU’s vice-chancellor, Prof Soniya Nityanand, expressed shock over the tragic death and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Dr Anand Kumar recounted to the police that his daughter, aged 26, had set out from home on her scooty to reach the medical college. The accident occurred around 100 metres in front of Sahara City Home Gate when a truck hit her from behind.

The incident has left the KGMU community in mourning as they stand united in support of Dr Dikshanvita Anand’s family during this difficult time. The authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
