The festival or day is annually organized by DTTDC (Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation) in partnership with the New Delhi Municipal Council, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority and National Horticultural Board since 1987.

Significance
In this festival, more than 500 varieties of mangoes displays. Some of the famous varities of Mango are – Dasheri, Kallmi, Alphonso, Badami, Himsagar, and Ratnagiri. Mango eating competition is organised every year, where winner gets prize. The aim of the day is to attract foodies.
