Hyundai Motors India Limited recently introduced the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, a compact SUV equipped with dual cylinder CNG technology. Similar to the Tata Punch iCNG, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo features two small CNG cylinders instead of a large one, which allows for more luggage space in the boot, addressing a common criticism of CNG vehicles. The vehicle also includes an Integrated Electronic Control Unit to facilitate a seamless transition between petrol and CNG modes.
The Exter Hy-CNG Duo is powered by a 1.2L Bi-Fuel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, achieving a fuel efficiency of 27.1 km/kg as tested by ARAI. It boasts a range of features, including a Smart Electric Sunroof, LED DRLs and tail lamps, Fully Automatic Temperature Control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and advanced safety features such as 6 airbags, TPMS Highline, Electronic Stability Control, and Hill-Start Assist Control.
Hyundai announced that they have sold over 93,000 units of the Exter in the Indian market and introduced the Knight Edition of the SUV to mark this milestone. Mr. Tarun Garg, from Hyundai Motors India Limited, expressed excitement about the launch of the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, emphasizing the company’s commitment to providing sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.
