In a thrilling match of IPL 2024, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, and Dinesh Karthik shone for Royal Challengers Bengaluru while Jasprit Bumrah starred for Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Du Plessis scored 61, Patidar hit 50, and Karthik made an unbeaten 53, while Bumrah took 5 wickets for 21 runs.

It was a historic match as three batters scored half-centuries and a bowler claimed a fifer in the same innings, a first in IPL. Additionally, three players scored fifty-plus scores and three players got out for ducks in the same innings, with Maxwell, Lomror, and Vyshak scoring zeros while Du Plessis, Patidar, and Karthik shined for RCB.

Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional performance marked his second five-wicket haul in his IPL career which started in 2013. He finished with figures of 5-21, his second-best bowling effort after 5-10 in 2023. Bumrah has now taken 155 wickets in 125 matches so far.

During his spell, Bumrah was twice on a hat-trick, claiming two wickets in two deliveries twice in the match. Another milestone was achieved by Shreyas Gopal of Mumbai Indians, who bagged his 50th IPL wicket in his 50th match by dismissing Glenn Maxwell for a duck.
