Iran conducts massive drone and missile attack on Israel

In a combined attack, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones on Israel, triggering air raid alerts across the country. Residents reported multiple bombings as sirens wailed in various regions, including Jerusalem, Negev Desert, and the Golan Heights.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed the attack, noting that some missiles were intercepted. Allied countries, including the US, Jordan, and Britain, intercepted around 100 out of 400-500 drones launched towards Israel, reported Israel’s state-owned Kan TV news.

Despite intercepting most drones, a 10-year-old boy in the Negev was seriously injured. Another projectile fell near Umm Al Fahm, causing no injuries. Israel is gearing up for a “significant response” to the attack, with an anonymous Israeli official stating, “It will come soon” in response to the first direct attack from Iran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran acknowledged the missile and drone attacks on Israel. The Israeli military remains on high alert, with the IDF Aerial Defense Array, Air Force fighter jets, and Navy vessels prepared to defend against any further aggression.

Reports also suggest that cruise missiles were launched from Iran towards Israel, as tensions have been escalating in the region. The heightened alert follows Iranian threats to avenge the killing of seven Iranian officers in Damascus, allegedly by Israel. The situation remains volatile as Israel prepares to retaliate against the Iranian attack.
