Why Chris Hemsworth couldn't get Kevin Costner to cast him in new film; Costner cast himself!

Los Angeles, April 16 (IANS) Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth recently revealed his disappointment in not landing a role in a Kevin Costner-directed project. Hemsworth shared that despite his efforts, Costner had cast himself in the character of the movie, which he described as “abstract and interesting…a small story about a man and a woman.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hemsworth expressed his desire to be a part of the project, saying, “I’d love (to have) him as a director. I was like, ‘Goddamnit!’ (I spent) an hour the other day trying to convince him, and he was like, ‘I’m doing it, kid.’ Didn’t work. I didn’t get the part.”

According to Variety, Hemsworth was drawn to the film as it involved horses, with the character being a “horse wrangler.” He mentioned that his wife also loved horses and encouraged him to pursue the role, as they have several horses at home.

On the other hand, Costner addressed Hemsworth’s disappointment, stating, “It’s a love story, but as long as I’m still young enough to play it, I’ll play it. Chris will have to wait his turn. He’s so handsome, and he’s so good. He’s going to have to go find his (own) love story.”

Costner praised Hemsworth as one of the great leading men in Hollywood currently, suggesting that if he ever felt unable to play the role, he would consider reaching out to Hemsworth.
