Is astrology a science or superstition?

Astrology is the science of astronomy; in fact, horoscope astrology is a mathematical calculation of celestial bodies. It is scientific knowledge of planets, stars, and their respective position.

It is often said philosophy begins where science ends, and that is where horoscope astrology prevails. Our bodies are made of 70% of water, and since the Moon influences water, some changes are seen in the body during the eclipse, which is why we follow certain rituals during a lunar eclipse. Similarly, each planet has relevance with the human body and different spheres of life of a person.

Astrology, in my opinion, is legit, as the use of astrology is used in Vedic texts and books. It is also mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Few famous people worldwide have taken shelter in horoscope astrology, such as Benjamin Franklin, who used horoscope astrology before declaring independence, and Walt Disney, who used it for his business purposes.

So, if it has such a vast history and significance, it maintains and has importance. So now we have determined astrology is correct.

Now about astrologers, this is where it gets tricky. Like there are good and bad teachers or doctors. There are good and bad astrologers as well. It depends upon the knowledge and experience of an astrologer to understand and make the correct prediction.

So there are no two ways in saying that it is a science and not superstition, as you have evidence backing your belief.

What is the significance of Saturn in astrology?

Saturn is one of the dark and dire planets in Vedic astrology. He is named after his nature, i.e., slow in movement since it’s a giant planet and away from earth.

As per Vedic horoscope astrology, he is the son of Planet Sun and his wife, Chaya. He shares an icy and dry relationship with his father. He is away from Sun; their nature is very different; the Sun is always on time, whereas Saturn is slow and late. In Vedic astrology, he is considered malefic. However, if placed beneficially, then the person is showered with prosperity. But if poorly placed, then it can give terrible troubles turning life into hell.

Shani stays strong in the 7th house. He is like those strict teachers who discipline you never to forget the lessons that they taught you. It is like a struggle of the fittest kind of situation—only the ones who are strong, sincere, reliable, pure, honest pass the test.  Saturn rules over our bones. Due to the malefic effect of Shani dev, one might be suffering from bone ailments throughout life.

Karma and Shani go hand in hand; Sade Sati Of Shani is one of the challenging phases that a person faces if involved in a tough time with Shani.

Saturn rules Capricorn and Aquarius. When it is in a difficult position, the person is likely to become self-centered and selfish. They may lead a challenging life and face many problems, struggles in everything throughout their life. Now the consequences of Saturn are different depending on each planet that it hangs out with. If it is a friendly planet, then it is good; otherwise, it could be troublesome. On the other hand, if Saturn is in harmony with other planets, it will give you beneficial results.

Each planet gives different combinations when it comes to the Shani combination. It forms Swarashi when it is in Capricorn/ Aquarius sign as Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn and Aquarius.

Planets Mercury and Venus are benefic with Saturn, Guru which is Jupiter is neutral. Saturn is usually friendly with the three planets ahead of it, forward or backward.

In Vedic astrology, each planet reacts differently with other worlds. Saturn and Mars are considered quite auspicious. Saturn is very disciplined and goes by the rulebook. e.g. If it comes with Rahu does not follow any rules, natives who have this conjunction may suffer, and these folks may always go against society; if it is in the ascendants, they may always have a negative approach to life.

If it comes with Moon, then it makes the person disciplined, emotional, and realistic. As moon deals with emotions, maternity.

One of the best combinations seen in Vedic horoscope astrology for Saturn is Saturn and Jupiter as it forms Brahma yoga. It gives immense knowledge and a sense of justice. It is one of the most auspicious conjunctions.
