Is the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero heading to India after its debut in Thailand?
The 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been launched in Thailand with extensive upgrades. The SUV, now in its second facelift, brings a host of new features to keep it relevant in the market for years to come.
Mitsubishi has introduced a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine in the new Pajero Sport, generating 181 bhp and 430 Nm of peak torque. The SUV also comes with Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD II system along with four off-road driving modes – gravel, mud/snow, sand, and rock.
The exterior of the 2024 Pajero Sport has been refreshed with a new hexagonal grille, reworked front and rear bumpers, and new 18-inch black monotone alloy wheels. The cabin features a dual-tone black and burgundy color scheme with tech upgrades like an 8-inch digital instrument console and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Additional features on the Pajero Sport include an air purifier, adaptive cruise control, and a remote control app for vehicle telematics. Despite being discontinued in India in 2020, the Pajero Sport still holds a strong following in the country, especially with rumors of competitors like the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner on the horizon.
Mitsubishi’s return to India this year in collaboration with TVS Mobility does not include selling cars in the country. The Japanese automaker aims to provide various services, excluding vehicle sales, under this partnership. As of now, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift is exclusive to international markets with no plans announced for an India return.
