Israel PM Vows to Remove Yahya Sinwar at all Costs

Tel Aviv, March 25 (IANS) Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong statement saying that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “will be killed at any cost”. Netanyahu made the comments during a media briefing on Sunday night, comparing Sinwar to Haman from the ancient city of Purim.

Netanyahu emphasized, “We will unite, fight and win just as we did in ancient times.” This statement reflects the Israeli government’s determination to eliminate Sinwar, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the October 7, 2023 massacre in southern Israel.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant had previously stated Israel’s intention to eliminate Sinwar. Netanyahu further reinforced this stance by expressing his confidence in achieving “total victory” in Rafah, during a meeting with border guards of the Military Police Corps.

The escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas have raised concerns about the potential for further conflict in the region. Netanyahu’s firm stance on targeting Sinwar underscores the Israeli government’s commitment to addressing security threats posed by Hamas.
