Israel shuts down schools following Iran attack

Israel Shuts Down Educational Institutions Post Iranian Attack

Tel Aviv, April 14 (IANS) Israel has closed all its educational institutions from Sunday for an indefinite period following the Iranian attack. Iran directed drones and missiles at Israel, which the latter claimed to have destroyed in the air.

The Iranian attack was in response to an earlier assault on its consulate in Damascus by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on April 1. Seven top officials of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were killed in the previous attack.

The Israel Home Front announced the suspension of all extracurricular activities in the country until further notice. IDF spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, stated that no educational institutions will be open, and all camp programs and extracurricular activities are on hold.

Israeli defense ministry officials confirmed that all necessary precautions have been taken to deal with the threats from Iran proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi militants from Yemen. Despite the attacks, Israel remains prepared for any escalation and will not be intimidated.

Daniel Hagari urged Israeli citizens to stay vigilant and seek shelter for ten minutes upon hearing a warning siren. The country is on high alert following the recent developments in the region.
