Israeli Defense Forces Eliminate Four High-Ranking Hamas Officials at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza

Tel Aviv, March 31 (IANS) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed killing four senior Hamas leaders during an operation at Gaza City’s Al-Shifa hospital. The deceased have been identified as Raad Thabet, Mahmoud Khalil Zakzuk, Fadi Dweik, and Zakaria Najib.

Raad Thabet was the head of Hamas’s recruitment and supply acquisition, while Mahmoud Khalil Zakzuk was the deputy commander of Hamas’s rocket unit in Gaza City. Fadi Dweik was a senior intelligence officer of Hamas involved in a 2002 shooting incident in the West Bank. Zakaria Najib was a senior operative in Hamas’s West Bank headquarters planning attacks on Israel.

The IDF statement mentioned ongoing exchange of fire at Al-Shifa hospital, with around 200 Hamas operatives killed inside so far. Additionally, several Hamas gunmen were killed in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, while Israel Air Force conducted aerial attacks in al-Amal and al-Quarara regions for ground invasion support.

Sources in Israel Defense Ministry revealed that combing operations are underway at Al-Shifa and Al-Nasser hospitals, where more Hamas operatives are currently holed up. The IDF continues its efforts to neutralize threats posed by the terror outfit in the region.
