Israeli officials express solidarity with victims of Badaun killings, say “We cry for all children as we would for our own”
New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) Israel expressed deep shock over the brutal killing of two young brothers in Uttar Pradesh, calling it “heartbreaking”. The children, aged 13 and six, were hacked to death by a local barber in Badaun on Tuesday.
Deputy Ambassador of Israel to India, Ohad Nakash Kaynar, expressed devastation, saying, “We cry for all children just as for our own. Heartbreaking.” The main accused, Sajid, was shot dead in a police encounter two hours after the murder.
The mother of the slain children mentioned that only Javed could reveal the motive behind the murder. Local media reports mentioned Hamas militants killing over 30 Israeli children in an attack on October 7, 2023, with 130 hostages still in captivity, according to The Wall Street Journal.
In response to reports of Hamas’s actions, the group released footage of militants attending to infants and toddlers. The incident has left Israel deeply disturbed, as the nation grapples with the senseless loss of young lives at the hands of terrorists.
