ITF Women’s Open: Ankita Raina leads Indian contingent in main draw at Gurugram

Ankita Raina leads Indian contingent at ITF Women’s Open W35 Gurugram. The tournament will feature players from 16 countries including six-time ITF title winner, Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia. The event will have a US $25,000 prize money with Indian talents participating in the main draw and qualifying rounds.

The prestigious ITF Women’s Open W35 Gurugram is set to take place from February 26 to March 3 and will be hosted by The Tennis Project. The main draw will consist of 32 players with Ankita Raina, Sahaja Yamalapalli, Vaidehi Chaudhari, Srivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty, and Zeel Desai representing India at the event. The qualifying rounds will allow Indian talents to compete for a spot in the main draw.

Vishal Uppal, the founder of The Tennis Project, expressed his excitement for the tournament, highlighting the importance of empowering women in sports. He thanked Federal Bank and other sponsors for their support in making the event a success. The tournament will also feature a Pro-Am event where professional players will team up with corporate amateurs, adding to the celebration of women’s tennis.

The ITF Women’s Open W35 Gurugram offers a total prize money of US $25,000 with the winner receiving US $3935 and 35 valuable WTA points. The runner-up will secure US $2107 and 23 WTA points, setting the stage for a highly competitive final. The event promises to be a thrilling affair with top players from around the world participating in the competition.
