IVPL 2023: Jatin Saxena, Naman Ojha star as Chhattisgarh Warriors thrash Telangana Tigers

In a thrilling match of the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL), Jatin Saxena’s explosive innings of 92 off 33 balls and Naman Ojha’s quickfire 49 off 23 helped Chhattisgarh Warriors decimate Telangana Tigers by nine wickets. The match took place at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida on Tuesday.

Telangana Tigers managed to score 150/7 in their 20 overs, but it was not enough as Chhattisgarh Warriors easily chased down the target in just the 11th over, thanks to Saxena and Ojha’s aggressive batting. Saxena was deservedly named as the Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.

The Telangana Tigers had a decent start, but things took a turn for the worse after the early dismissal of Chris Gayle. Despite a solid partnership between Ricardo Powell and Manpreet Gony, Telangana Tigers could only manage to set a target of 151 runs for victory.

Chhattisgarh Warriors’ opening duo of Naman Ojha and Jatin Saxena took charge of the chase and dominated the Telangana Tigers’ bowlers. Their impressive 141-run partnership for the first wicket sealed the victory for Chhattisgarh Warriors, with Ojha hitting four sixes and Saxena smashing 8 maximums.

Saxena fell just short of a well-deserved century, getting out on 92 when only 10 runs were needed for victory. Nevertheless, Chhattisgarh Warriors comfortably reached the target in the 11th over, securing a convincing nine-wicket win over Telangana Tigers.

Chhattisgarh Warriors will now face Rajasthan Legends in their upcoming match on Wednesday, while Telangana Tigers are set to take on Red Carpet Delhi on Friday in the ongoing IVPL tournament, promising more exciting cricket action for the fans.
