James Charles Alleged Video Leak: Everything You Need to Know About the Trending Viral Video On Twitter and Reddit

An inappropriate video of a person who looked like prominent YouTuber and makeup artist James Charles was leaked on the Telegram channel on August 16.

Later, a clip from the alleged video spread across various social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit.

Soon, netizens were reacting to the James Charles Twitter video leak, and the hashtag #JamesCharles was trending across social media platforms.

The 25-year-old YouTuber became a hot topic of discussion.

What’s in the James Charles alleged leak video?

The alleged audio-less James Charles video leak clip of 5 minutes duration featured a video call between two men over the Monkey app.

The Monkey app is much akin to the now-nonexistent chat app Omegle, which enables netizens across the globe to interact via texts and video calls anonymously.

Although many users have not viewed the video, it still started a comic meme fest involving James Charles.

One X user posted that there is another and what he stated was the second part of the James Charles video leak, and asked other users to stop reposting the clips.

This is not the first time that YouTuber and makeup artist James Charles has been involved in controversies.

In 2021, it was alleged that he was grooming and indulging minors.

However, Charles has denied the allegation and stated that the alleged minor had introduced himself as an adult over 18 years.

The allegation had a crippling effect on Charles, who had carved a niche for himself as a well-known makeup influencer on YouTube, and was working with numerous brands and celebrity collaborations, lost the right to monetize his channel. He also lost several brand deals.

Charles was only 17 when he became the first male brand ambassador for cosmetics brand CoverGirl.

He made his first appearance in an advertisement for CoverGirl’s So Lashy mascara.

In 2018, he started a clothing line, Sisters Apparel, and a makeup collection, the Sister Collection.

James was also involved in another controversy involving another makeup influencer, Tati Westbrook, with whom he had collaborated in 2019.

Tati had accused Charles of trying to coax a straight waiter into believing that he was gay.

Tati also derided Charles’ behaviour as disgusting and said that it amounted to using his fame and money power to manipulate someone’s sexuality and play with someone’s emotions.

The controversy cost Charles nearly 1 million subscribers.

Many months after this incident, in an interview with Cosmopolitan, Charles admitted that he had to do a lot of retrospection and it was a mistake even though he is neither a paedophile nor a groomer.

Charles eventually got over the whole episode and made a comeback.

However, his past has come to haunt him again and the latest viral leaks have once again made life difficult for the YouTuber. As of now, Charles has not publicly addressed the situation.
