Jann Mardenborough Nurburgring Crash Goes Viral on Social Media

Jann Mardenborough’s amazing journey from a gamer to a racer is quite inspiring. His car crash at Nurburgring has become an inspiring moment. It is becoming a part of the Gran Turismo movie. During an interview, Jann Mardenborough stated that the car crash took his life in a whole new direction and even became an inspiration for the Gran Turismo movie, released on August 9.

The incident happened at Flugplatz meaning “airfield” or, more literally, “flying place”. This is where Mardenborough, 31, lost control over his vehicle i.e Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 at the Nordschleife section of the 12.9-mile circuit during a race back in 2015. Because of the ripples at the track, his car flipped in the air before falling into the fence killing one of the viewers. Apart from him, many were injured with minor injuries and were later hospitalized. 

The movie Gran Turismo showed what happened at the site at that time. Talking about his car crash, Mardenborough revealed that he wants to add his accident to the potline only if it was showcased in the right manner.

He was even involved in the movie’s production and made changes in the planning phases to post-production. During an interview, he said- “It’s a part of my story; it’s my life.”

He further added that the accident is a part of his life and leaving it would be an injustice to it. He worked with the screenwriter, producers and director to showcase the infamous accident properly. Plus, a person died during the crash so it would be wrong. 

The movie also shows his most vulnerable time when he was all alone in the hospital during the treatment.
