Jannik Sinner defeats Grigor Dimitrov to claim Miami Open victory

Florida, April 1 (IANS) Jannik Sinner clinched his first Miami Open title by defeating Grigor Dimitrov in the men’s singles final. This victory marks his third title of the year, making him the first Italian to win the prestigious tournament.

Sinner, currently ranked World No. 3, displayed exceptional performance throughout the tournament, securing his place as the champion. His dominance on the court led to a convincing victory over Dimitrov, with a final scoreline of 6-3, 6-1.

Having previously finished as the runner-up in 2021 and 2023, this win signifies a significant milestone for the 22-year-old Italian player. With a stellar record of 22-1 this season, Sinner’s remarkable form has elevated him to the No. 2 position in the rankings.
