J&K narco-terrorism case: NIA attaches 4 properties, seizes Rs 2.27 crore

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached four properties and seized Rs 2.27 crore in cash in connection with the Jammu and Kashmir narco-terrorism case involving LeT and HM. Properties in Handwara of Kupwara district owned by four accused have been attached.

The attached properties include a double-storey house, a single-storey house, a house of Saleem Andrabi, and a double-storey house of Islam-ul Haq, belonging to the accused. A total of 12 accused have been arrested in the case, with a charge sheet filed against 15 individuals.

The case pertains to the use of drug proceeds to fund terror activities by LeT and HM in the Handwara-Kupwara region. The case was registered after the recovery of a black bag and Indian currency notes from a car in the Langate area of Handwara.

According to the official, preliminary questioning of the car’s driver led to the narco-terror nexus revelations, resulting in the seizure of 21 kg of heroin and other incriminating material from the houses of accused. The NIA is actively working to dismantle the terror network in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure national security.
