KABIL Signs Agreement with CSIR-IMMT for Technical Cooperation in Critical Minerals

Bhubaneswar, April 10 (IANS) – Khanij Bidesh India Limited (KABIL) has partnered with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost technical and knowledge cooperation for Critical Minerals. The MoU aims to enhance mineral processing, beneficiation, and metal extraction technologies.

KABIL will utilize the technical expertise and services of CSIR-IMMT for various projects including metallurgical test work plans, process flowsheet design and analysis, and process technology selection. The agreement also involves joint research initiatives and the exchange of scientific information between the two entities.

The MoU was signed by Sadashiv Samantaray, Director (Commercial), NALCO and CEO, KABIL, and Dr. Ramanuj Narayan, Director, CSIR-IMMT, in the presence of Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO & Chairman, KABIL, at NALCO Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar. KABIL, a JV company of NALCO, HCL, and MECL under the Ministry of Mines, is mandated to ensure mineral supply-side assurance for domestic requirements and support the Make in India initiative.

Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO & Chairman, KABIL, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with CSIR-IMMT, emphasizing the importance of scientific research in the mineral and metallurgical sectors for the growth and sustainability of the Indian mining industry. This partnership aims to bolster mineral security and meet domestic mineral requirements effectively.
