Kamada Ekadashi Vrat katha
In ancient times, there lived a great Brahmin and a Thakur in a city. Both were not like each other. They kept quarreling with each other. The differences between the two increased so much that one day Thakur killed a Brahmin. The Brahmins of that city were greatly offended by his act.
He was very sorry for what he had done. Later, when he thought of doing the thirteenth of the Brahmin, the Brahmins refused to have food at his house. Due to the Brahmin’s opposition and anger, Thakur became completely alone. The guilt that arose in his mind for his work, he began to blame himself.
Mentally he started feeling very upset. He became very unhappy with his life. At the same time, he found a monk. He wanted to know from the monk how to get rid of this great sin. Then that Mahatma told him the importance of Kamada Ekadashi and suggested him to fast for Kamada Ekadashi.
On the Ekadashi date of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, that Thakur observed the fast of Kamada Ekadashi according to that Mahatma. On the day of Kamada Ekadashi, while he was sleeping near the idol of Lord Vishnu, he saw a dream. In it, Lord Vishnu told him that Thakur, because of the effect of this fast, you have been freed from the sin of killing Brahm. Freed from the guilt of killing Brahm, that Thakur also told the people about the importance of fasting Kamada Ekadashi.
By fasting on Kamada Ekadashi all the sins of a person are destroyed. In Vishnu Lok, that person gets a place and his other desires are also fulfilled.
