Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Vikram’ Crush Competition, Rakes Rs 33 Cr On Opening Day

Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Vikram‘, which was released on June 3, and despite negative reviews raked in 33 crores of which Tamil Nadu accounted for 21 crores. The film has been received very well in all territories. The action thriller is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is doing very well and raked in Rs 5 crore on the opening day in Kerala. . It did reasonably well in Karnataka (Rs 3.40 crore), Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (Rs 2.9 crore). The flick collected Rs 0.75 crore in rest of the regions in India. The film is doing very well globally also.

Trade experts have predicted that the film could rake in Rs 85 Crores in weekend across the nation. Some analysts have been more optimistic and swear that the film will collect Rs 90 crore in the first three days.

Two big budget films also clashed with “Vikram”, Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ and Adivi Shesh-starrer ‘Major’.

Well known trade analyst Ramesh Bala has predicted that that ‘Vikram’ will touch Rs 100 crore in Tamil Nadu

The film ‘Vikram’ is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj who also wrote the script of the film . Kamal Hassan lays the role of a retired RAW agent. Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil play key roles in the film and it also features Naren, Kalidas Jayaram, Chemban Vinod, Hareesh Peradi, Swastika Krishnan, Myna Nandhini and Maheshwari Chanakyan in key roles.

Looking at past history, Only Vijay, Ajith and Rajnikanth starrers have been able to rake in Rs 20 crores on the opening day. Other stars from the South barely touched Rs 10 crores. Now with “Vikram” Kamal Hassan also joins the illustrious list of stars. In fact he will lead the list and stay right at the top with a opening of 33 crores.

In the past films with a huge opening was followed by a huge drop on the second day. However but Vikram has a huge volume of pre-sales for today as well and with initial reception on the positive side, the film should be able to post some incredible numbers in a full run as well.
