Republican nominee for the upcoming US Presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris has once again set the social media on fire when she made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday by wearing a two-piece brown suit by Chloe.

Almost a decade ago Barack Obama angered many conservatives and Puritans commentators by briefing the press in a light-coloured suit. 

Many commentators felt it was an affront keeping in view the gravity of the topic being discussed namely the US military’s response to a then-flourishing ISIS.

New York Reporter Peter King talking to CNN labeled Obama’s actions as a sign of lack of seriousness while another Puritan Lou Dobbs called Obama’s actions un-presidential on Fox News.

He also added that it could be that Obama is transmitting some sort of hidden message, possibly to America’s enemies.

It is not clear if Harris’ actions were another moment of Republican baiting and challenging them for a debate and raring the critics to call her un-presidential.

The Vice President had the stage to Beyoncé’s “Freedom” wearing a tan pantsuit and laughing leading to another bout of jibes from her opponent.

Comedian John Fugelsang in a post on X stated that Kamala’s outfit will surely trigger all the right people while former spokesman for Jeb Bush and expert in opposition research Tim Miller jokingly quipped that Kamala was baiting Fox News into running tan suit coverage for the entire week.

Another less controversial but plausible explanation behind the suit, which Harris paired with a white lavalière blouse, could be a refresh of the August 2014 news week when media outlets loudly covered the tan gate with things like “Yes We Tan!” and “The Audacity of Taupe”.

They also reprinted old pictures of Republican President Ronald Reagan wearing a similar shade.

The choice of the color could also be coincidental and it was not the only time Kamala Harris wore a tan suit in recent times.

She wore a two-piece in Maryland last Thursday when she appeared alongside President Joe Biden for the first time when he announced that he would be stepping down from the presidential race.

However, she was in the news at that time also not for her suit but wearing a chunky gold necklace.
