Amidst the debate about the health conditions of both Democratic Party and Republican Presidential nominees, Vice President Kamala Harris’ doctor, Joshua Simmons, in a memo released on Saturday morning, stated that her health is excellent.
The release once again brings into focus her opponent Donald Trump’s health condition and raises the question of whether, if elected, he will be the oldest President of the US. Interestingly, Trump has shared few details about his health.
Harris’ spokesperson, Ian Sams, posted the report on X on Saturday and wrote: “Your turn, @realDonaldTrump.”
Kamala Harris’ Health Declared Excellent by White House Doctor; Urticaria Diagnosed
It is reported that Harris suffers from allergies and urticaria. Urticaria, or chronic hives, is an allergy that Harris manages with OTC medications. Harris is also reported to have been on allergen immunotherapy for the last three years, which has helped reduce her symptoms considerably.
The memo also revealed that Harris is shortsighted and wears contact lenses to correct this anomaly. Additionally, her maternal side has a history of colon cancer, and she has not suffered from any serious illness or undergone any surgery.
Kamala’s doctor also stated that she maintains an active and healthy lifestyle despite her hectic schedule, does regular aerobic exercises, and does not smoke. She also drinks moderately and has all the physical and mental resilience to fulfill her duties as President.
Age and health concerns were one of the main reasons for US President Joe Biden withdrawing from the next US Presidential race and endorsing Kamala Harris’s candidacy. However, there are also concerns about the health and age of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump.
In November 2023, the Trump campaign released a memo from Trump’s doctor, Bruce Aronwald, who stated that the former President was in excellent health and that his cognitive abilities were “extraordinary.” However, the memo did not reveal which types of tests Trump had taken or what their results were. The former President has never released his medical records, and the most recent report made public is from January 2018.
“I had more tests than any President,” Donald Trump stated.
However, Trump maintained that he has undergone more medical tests than any President and that he was far healthier than his rivals. He also questioned Harris’ health condition and dismissed her requests for his medical reports as desperate. Donald Trump took to the social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday to challenge the fitness of Vice President & Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
Trump posted, “I’ve put out more medical exams than any other President in history,” asserting that he has excelled in two cognitive exams, with his doctor praising his results as “exceptional.” He added, “I am far healthier than Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, but especially Kamala.”
He also joked that Kamala wants to know his cholesterol levels, which he revealed was 180.
