Kamala Harris’ Birth Certificate Surface Online After Trump Doubts Her Ethnicity

The debate about Vice President Kamala Harris’s ethnicity is getting more intense.

Earlier during an interaction with the National Association for Black Journalists (NABJ) on Wednesday, Donald Trump questioned Kamala Harris’s ethnicity.

Kamala Harris’ Birth Certificate Surfaces Online

In an interesting development, far-right commentator Laura Loomer shared Harris’ birth certificate in which the Vice President’s mother’s ethnicity was recorded as “Caucasian.”

Loomer’s post, in a way, adds fuel to Trump’s claim that Harris is not Black.

Trump is trying to shore up his support base among Blacks who have traditionally supported the Democrats. Kamala Harris is reported to be leading in five of seven battleground states, according to a recent Bloomberg poll.

Kamala Harris’s mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was an Indian-American biomedical scientist, while Kamala Harris’s father, Donald Harris, is a Jamaican-American professor emeritus at Stanford University.

Experts, however, contend that the birth certificates which were issued in the 1960s did not specify the infant’s race.

Kamala Harris’s campaign team has stated that the listing of Kamala’s mother as “Caucasian” does not change her identity.

Laura Loomer’s post has evoked mixed responses, with many commentators pointing out the lack of logic and claiming that Harris’s father could be both Black and Jamaican.

They also added that the former President could not understand the fact that Harris could be of both Indian and Black origins.

Trump, at the annual gathering of Black journalists in Chicago, had said,

“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”

Trump said of Harris, whose mother was Indian American and whose father is Black.

Harris’s team hit back at Trump and said that the former President is continuing with his divisive policy and seeks to regain power using the same hostility which he had displayed throughout his life.

Trump is continuing to enforce his harmful Project 2025 agenda on the American people.

This is not the first time such incidents have happened. Similar allegations were also made against former US President Barack Obama.

Obama’s birthplace and ethnicity were widely questioned during his 2008 presidential campaign. Detractors of Obama had questioned his birthplace and citizenship, and false theories claimed that he was born in Kenya or that he had lost his US citizenship by becoming an Indonesian citizen.
