Karnataka BJP MLA Vishwanath demands LS ticket if not given to his son

In a recent statement, Karnataka BJP MLA S.R. Vishwanath expressed his desire for either his son or himself to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Chikkaballapur. Vishwanath emphasized that if his son, Alok Vishwanath, is not considered for the ticket, then the party should consider him as a candidate instead.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru after returning from Delhi, Vishwanath stated, “If my son Alok Vishwanath is not considered for the ticket, let the party make me the candidate. I am also an aspiring candidate for the Chikkaballapur seat.” He also highlighted a wave of support against former minister K. Sudhakar, suggesting that many people feel he should not be given the ticket.

Vishwanath further mentioned that his son Alok Vishwanath had been preparing for the elections for the past six months and various surveys have indicated that he is a strong contender for the ticket. If Alok is not chosen, Vishwanath made it clear that he is willing to step in as the candidate. He firmly stated, “We are not ready to leave our constituency for others.”

The MLA’s bold statements regarding the distribution of BJP tickets for the Chikkaballapur seat have sparked a debate within the party. As the Lok Sabha polls draw closer, it remains to be seen how the BJP leadership in Karnataka will respond to Vishwanath’s demands. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
