Karnataka Government introduces India’s inaugural International Stand Up-Paddling Event

The Government of Karnataka has officially launched India’s first-ever International Stand-Up Paddling event in Mangaluru. The event was announced in the presence of UT Khader, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and Dhananjaya Shetty. The three-day championship is set to take place at Sasihithlu Beach from March 8-10, 2024, preceding the launch of the 2024 APP World Tour.

UT Khader expressed, “We need more of these events in Dakshina Kannada to highlight the beauty of our coastline, culture and cuisine. We are excited to host the inaugural India Paddle Festival in Mangaluru.” Dhananjaya Shetty also added, “We take pride and immense pleasure in hosting the event on such a grand scale, and we will leave no stone unturned to make this event a grand success.”

The occasion also featured the unveiling of the India Paddle Festival logo. The event aims to showcase the beauty of the coastline and promote water sports in the region. The support from the Government of Karnataka has been instrumental in making this event possible.

The International Stand-Up Paddling event is a significant milestone for India’s sports tourism industry. It is expected to attract participants and spectators from around the world. The event will not only promote water sports but also showcase the cultural and culinary delights of Dakshina Kannada.
