Karnataka Home Minister assures no embarrassment to government over arrests for pro-Pak slogans

Bengaluru, March 5 (IANS) Karnataka Home Minister, Dr G Parameshwara, addressed the press on Tuesday regarding the arrest of three individuals in a case involving pro-Pakistan slogans. Parameshwara stated that the government had no reason to feel embarrassed, as the arrests were based on the Forensic Science Laboratory report.

According to the Home Minister, the investigations will determine if more people were involved in the incident. He dismissed claims made by the BJP, stating that arrests were not made due to demands but after receiving the FSL report. Further action will be taken after understanding the motives behind the slogans.

Parameshwara clarified that the arrests were made in connection with the raising of pro-Pakistan slogans without specifying who exactly did so. He emphasized that the government did not prompt the individuals to raise such slogans and any police negligence will be dealt with. The Home Minister also mentioned that action will be taken against BJP workers who raised similar slogans in Mandya District.

The arrest of three individuals in the pro-Pakistan slogan-raising case has led to significant developments. Mohammad Nashipudi from Byadagi, Munnawar Ahmad from Jayamahal area in Bengaluru, and Mohammad Iltaz were taken into custody. Nashipudi was aspiring for a Lok Sabha ticket, Ahmad was a local Congress worker, and Iltaz hailed from New Delhi.
