Karthik criticizes TN coach for blaming skipper after Ranji Trophy SF loss

In a recent turn of events, India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik criticized Tamil Nadu coach Sulakshan Kulkarni for blaming skipper R Sai Kishore for their loss to Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy semifinal. Kulkarni had criticized Kishore’s decision to bat first, stating it led to their defeat.

Karthik expressed his disappointment with Kulkarni’s remarks through a social media post, defending Kishore’s captaincy. He highlighted the coach’s lack of support for the team and captain, stating, “the coach has absolutely thrown his captain and team under the bus.”

Mumbai advanced to the Ranji Trophy final for the 48th time after a convincing victory over Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs in the semifinal. Despite Kishore’s six-wicket haul, Mumbai’s strong batting performance led by Shardul Thakur and Tanush Kotian proved to be the difference in the match.

Tamil Nadu, after a disappointing first innings total of 146 runs, struggled in their second innings as well, collapsing for just 162 runs. Mumbai’s dominant display with the bat and ball secured their spot in the final, leaving Tamil Nadu to ponder their missed opportunities in the crucial match.
