KC Venugopal expresses surprise over unexpected events in West Bengal

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 11 (IANS) AICC General Secretary (Organisation) and Alappuzha Lok Sabha candidate K. C. Venugopal criticized the BJP for undermining India’s values. Venugopal expressed his determination to limit BJP’s Lok Sabha seats while campaigning in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi’s constituency.

Venugopal emphasized the Congress party’s commitment to challenging the BJP in the upcoming elections. He mentioned Rahul Gandhi’s imminent arrival in Wayanad after completing his political yatra in Mumbai. Rahul is facing Annie Raja of CPI in the elections, with Venugopal highlighting Rahul’s previous victory by a significant margin.

The CPI, part of the ruling CPI-M-led Left Democratic Front, opposes Rahul Gandhi’s candidacy from Wayanad and questions the need for him to contest from there. Despite the CPI contesting against Congress in other Kerala Lok Sabha seats, the party does not want Rahul to run in Wayanad. The tension between the two parties reflects their conflicting political interests in the region, setting the stage for a potentially contentious election battle.

Venugopal’s comments underscore the political complexities and rivalries at play in Kerala’s electoral landscape. The upcoming Lok Sabha elections will witness fierce competition between different political factions, including the INDIA Block, as they vie for power and influence in the state.
