2.The priests here belong to a particular community of Karnataka

The ritual of the temple is not performed by any priest. Rather, a particular community has its own members to worship in the temple. However, the chief priests inside the temple do not perform the rituals. The head priest, who is called Rawal and belongs to the Veera Shaiva Jangam community of Karnataka and can only delegate responsibilities here to his subordinates.
