Khan Sir Joins Protest, Unconfirmed Reports Of His Arrest In Patna

The social media was abuzz with news that Faisal Khan aka Khan Sir, the renowned educationist was arrested amid protests against the much-touted normalization process in the BPSC. The BPSC exam is scheduled to be held on December 13.

However the Bihar Police have negated viral rumours and according to News 18, Khan Sir has not been arrested or detained.

Rajiv Mishra, SSP, Patna in a statement said,

“Neither was Khan Sir arrested, nor taken into custody. He was repeatedly being asked to come to the police station but he was not ready. The claims of his arrest are baseless”.

As per reports Khan Sir was participating in protests opposing the normalization process in the BPSC.

There are unconfirmed reports that police had resorted to baton charge on the protestors who were demanding a written confirmation by the BPSC that the controversial normalization program will not be applied on the forthcoming examination.

Khan Sir was also joined by Guru Rahman and it is reported that Police had detained some of the protestors. Both Khan Sir and Guru Rahman have appealed to students to protest peacefully.

For the unversed, normalization is a process where the scores are adjusted if one set of questions is adjudged easier or harder than others. If a candidate scores less marks in one shift his marks are adjusted to align with the marks obtained by other candidates in the other shifts.

The BPSC has clarified that the Normalization has not been implemented and the BPSC Secretary Satya Prakash Sharma has stated that if any process like Normalization is to be implemented it will be clearly mentioned in the notification by the commission.

The Commission in its notification has stated,

“There is no mention of normalization anywhere in the advertisement for the BPSC 70th CCE, not has there been any subsequent information. The exam will be held as scheduled on December 13″.

Khan Sir is critical of the Normalization process and has labeled it as erroneous. He also stated that protests will not end till the BPSC issues a statement striking down normalization.

Khan Sir also said that there is a lot of irregularity within BPSC and the posts of DSP and SDM are being sold.

He also stated that there will be two sets of different questions which will be asked for the same exam. He demanded that there should be one question paper so that all candidates are given equal opportunities.
