The Khanapara Teer Games genesis can be traced to a sleepy hamlet in the Assam –Meghalaya named Khanapara. The sleepy hamlet had great significance in the past and was a transit point in the ancient trade routes and was a place to halt and rest for traders before they continue their journey.

A group of fifty archers fire arrows at a target and the players’ have to bet on the total number of arrows which are shot by the archers. The player who correctly predicts the number of arrows is the winner and he is able to take home a reward which is many times the money he has bet.
