Kick CEO Eddie Declares Fousey’s Ban ‘Permanent’ as Streamer Disowns Family

Live streaming platform Kick’s CEO Eddie has confirmed that Palestinian-American streamer Yousef “Fousey” Erakat has been permanently banned in line with the platform’s policy of maintaining community standards.

The move follows a series of questionable actions by the streamer on the platform.

Fousey Banned Permanently

Eddie, in a curt message, stated,

“No more Fousey, man. This isn’t good for anyone.”

Fousey had launched a 30-day continuous live stream, which was hit by a number of technical issues, including erratic and muted audio.

The bugs that hit the stream negatively impacted the streamer emotionally, and he gave statements on self-injury and the mental stress faced by celebrity streamers.

Fousey has responded to the ban by accusing his production team of setting up technical mishaps that were not taken care of in advance for his outbursts.

He stated,

“The audio was muted for 30 minutes. I lost it under the pressure.”

He also came down heavily on the Kick platform’s decision to ban him without prior intimation and expressed deep disappointment at the platform’s abrupt actions despite his huge popularity.

The ban also brings into sharp focus the difficulties that platforms encounter while moderating content from controversial streamers. The Kick ban comes just after a ban by Twitch, where Fousey was suspended following distasteful language and an arrest after a self-swatting incident.

Meanwhile, in another development, Fousey has fired his therapist and also broken all connections with his family members immediately after the Kick ban.

Fousey stated,

“I fired my therapist, who has spoken to me daily for two years. Last night, when I needed her most, instead of being there for me, she left the group chat. She listened to my ex-manager, who told her, ‘I’m unwell.'”

Fousey also told his father that his family had lost him and that he would be living in Australia now.

“You guys lost me.”

“Family isn’t defined by blood; it’s defined by love and loyalty. Disowned my family once and for all.”

Fousey also reminded his father that last year, when he crashed out and was in the hospital, his brother Mohammad texted him and said that he and his mother were disowning Fousey and that now he would be on his own.

Fousey added,

“This is the last you’re ever going to see me. I live in Australia now. The house in San Diego, I’m still paying for. I need you to drop off Muffin to Los Angeles; I am giving away my dog Muffin to her babysitter. You guys lost me, baba. I am living my own life now.
