The viral video showcases Somaiya in a compromising position with a woman over a video call chat. Varsha Gaikwad, the former state minister and Maharashtra Congress leader reacted to the tape saying that the video was disgusting.
Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad went to Twitter and tweeted: “Disgusted by the video of #KiritSomaiya exposed by a Marathi news channel. The self-styled torchbearer of probity in governance has now been exposed. Those whose morals are questionable have been pretending to be arbiters of public morality.” Furthermore, she added that the BJP government leaders are caught in such obscene and immoral behavior while they promote Schemes and slogans like, “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”.

Kirit Somaiya Declines Allegations
Kirit Somaiya demands an investigation of thealleged viral mms video from Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The BJP leader claims that he is innocent. Devendra Fadnavis also holds a position in the home ministry, thus he can order an investigation into the viral mms video.
Somaiya wrote, “I am innocent… I have challenged influential individuals, and now they seek retribution through deplorable methods.” The BJP leader also added that a deep and proper investigation would reveal the truth and he would be marked innocent.
Kirit Somaiya in his letter to Fadnavis mentioned that the viral video of him being in a compromising position with a woman came out on the first day of the assembly session of Maharashtra. Thus, he alleged it to be a politically motivated move. However, VM Kanade, Maharashtra Lokayukta freed BMC guilty of being “Non-Transparent” and “Irregular” in the Complaint Filed by Kirit Somaiya, the BJP Leader.
