Festivals fill our lives with shades and laughter. There are uncountable numbers of festivities in India. The recent one was Gurupurav that experienced a less amount of celebration this year. There were several factors including the ongoing pandemic Covid-19. However, the passion has always been the same.

There are a thousand ways in which a festival can be celebrated without losing its vibe. And people are smart enough to find creative ways to celebrate their beloved festivals. Now the year has almost come to an end. At this point, just two festivals are left for us to celebrate and enjoy. 

We are talking about Christmas Day and New Year. The amazing part of these festivals is that they are celebrated all across the globe and not in one particular country. The beauty of both of these festivals is that they bring communities together. People from every religion celebrate these festivals at such a mass level that it becomes a mega even in every country. 

But, with the advent of Covid-19 in our lives, everything is not the same. Many things have changed. The restrictions have made it difficult to rejoice in the festivals, but not impossible. As I mentioned before, there are a thousand ways through which any festival can be celebrated.

The ‘New Normal’ for Christmas Day and New Year

What’s the new normal? Whether sisters send Rakhi to their brother or a New Year Present, the feelings and emotions are always the same. Though ways to celebrate festivals might have changed, but our emotions attached to them are still the same. 

This pandemic has forced us to stay inside our homes but some things can be done to enjoy these festivals. The vaccine for this virus is almost there, but still, no one can say how many years it would take for the authorities to eradicate this virus.  

Hence, the time has come when we must find a ‘new normal’ to celebrate Christmas day and New Year with our near and dear ones. Here are some creative ways that can be used to celebrate these festivals with the same enthusiasm and fun element. 

Create Memories

Living with the same people for so long might have made you bored of them. This time, instead of arranging for treats, try to create a calendar with fun activities. These activities would create memories that would last forever. 

Trim a Tree

It won’t be wise to purchase a Christmas tree from a shop until and unless you are planting it at your house. If you anyhow need a tree for Christmas Day, trim a tree or plant outside your house instead of buying one. That would add a more fun element to the celebration.

Go Digital

Be it sending a bouquet to a newly married couple or a rakhi to a brother, everything is digitally possible these days. Try to make these festivals digital as well. If your loved ones are living far away from you, the best option would be to plan a video call at the festival. 

These things would ensure a safe and happy festive season for you and your whole family.
