Krunal Pandya’s all-round show propels his team into D.Y. Patil T20 Cup final

In the 18th D.Y. Patil T20 Cup, Krunal Pandya shone as D.Y. Patil Red triumphed over CAG by 91 runs in the first semifinal, while Income Tax outplayed Tata Sports Club by 41 runs in the second semifinal. The final will be held later on Saturday evening.

In the first semifinal, D.Y. Patil Red posted a massive 221/7 in their 20 overs, with standout performances from Siddharth Patidar, Nitish Rana, Krunal Pandya, and Abdul Samad. The bowlers for CAG struggled against the relentless batting attack, with Sayan Ghosh, Rajnish Gurbani, and Abid Mushtaq picking up wickets.

CAG’s chase fell short as only Sanveer Singh managed to make an impact with his 51 runs. Krunal Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy were exceptional with the ball, taking 4 wickets each as D.Y. Patil Red secured a dominant victory by 91 runs.

In the second semifinal, Income Tax set a target of 181/8 in their 20 overs, led by Lalit Yadav’s impressive 57 runs. Tata Sports Club struggled in their response, with skipper Sujit Naik being the lone fighter with his 51 runs. Income Tax bowlers, Sumit Kumar and M Mohammed, stood out as they bowled out Tata for 140, sealing a 41-run victory.

With both D.Y. Patil Red and Income Tax securing wins in the semifinals, the stage is set for an exciting final showdown between the two teams at the D.Y. Patil Stadium later on Saturday.
