Laapataa Ladies: Plotline

The film marks the second directorial venture of Kiran Rao, who is widely recognized for her marriage to Aamir Khan and recent appearances in the media during her daughter’s wedding. Her second film, ‘Laapataa Ladies’, recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

The story set in 2001 is both humorous and empowering. It presents a depiction of a bride’s life in post-marriage society.

Two newlywed brides get lost on their journey to their new home. While lost, one of the brides discovers a place she had never known about and starts exploring it.
