This day started in the 19th century from the city of Chicago, America. When laborers were made to work for 12 to 16 hours, that too without any leave and facility. During the movement, the police opened fire on the workers, in which many workers lost their lives and many were injured. Three years after this incident, the International Socialist Conference was organised, in which the daily working hours for every worker were fixed at 8 hours.
