Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has launched a Manga comic titled “India Calling Me Now” in India and Japan, in collaboration with Kodansha, highlighting gender awareness through themes like women’s education and gender disparity.

The comic series, published on Manga Planet India, aims to promote discussion and improve comprehension of gender-related matters. JICA’s Chief Representative, SAITO Mitsunori, stated, “We aim to enable further awareness and understanding of gender-related issues in India.”

KODAKSHA’s India Project Director, KOGA Yoshiaki, mentioned, “We aim to address social issues in India and worldwide through Japanese manga.” The comic series serves as an effective tool to inspire positive attitudes and behaviors towards gender bias, initiating societal change.
