Leaked Audio Clip Of Zaka Ashraf Explains Babar Azam’s Removal From Captaincy

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of PCB or Pakistan Cricket Board’s predicament seems like deepening and intensifying as a new audio clip goes viral all over the internet. The new audio clip that has emerged on the internet and gone viral claims to expose the primary and most important reason behind Babar Azam’s removal as a captain from all formats of cricket.
The entire internet is brimming with audio recording which is only 2 minutes and 15 seconds long. Currently, it is circulating widely over social media platforms. Most probably the audio clip features Ashraf purportedly unveiling a lot of strategies used by PCB. However, among other revelations, the clip also contains the strategy to oust Babar.
Content of Leaked Zaka Ashraf’s Audio Clip
In the leaked audio clip the voice resembles Ashraf who allegedly said, “Hassan Ali played because he is Babar Azam‘s friend. There is a person called Talha (Aisham) who is an agent. He has 8 national team players under his control. He even goes to the homes of players and has good relations with their families as well. And the players don’t even move without taking his permission.”

Moreover, he added, “I had told Babar Azam to retain the Test captaincy but relinquish the white-ball captaincy. Instead, he insisted on stepping down from captaincy in all formats. I even had a plan B. When Babar left the captaincy, I said to the other man, ‘Chal bhai, ab tu captain hai.'” The authenticity of the clip has not been confirmed by anyone on the internet yet.
The brawl between Babar Azam and Zaka Ashraf kickstarted in India during the ICC World Cup 2023. In the match, Pakistan was dismissed from the tournament in the league stage. Pakistan had to face four consecutive defeats.
WhatsApp Chat Leak Controversy
In November 2023 certain WhatsApp chats between Salman Naseer, Pakistan Cricket Board’s CEO, and Babar Aazam surfaced. The chats raised questions and queries about whether Zaka Ashraf and Babar communicated with each other in the middle of the World Cup or not. However, as per local media outlets, they communicated.

A review meeting took place in Pakistan following Pakistan’s World Cup exit. Then, Babar Azam was removed from the position of Pakistan Cricket team’s captain. The role of Test skipper was assigned to Shan Masood and the T20I captaincy was assigned to Shaheen Shah Afridi. However, the captaincy position at the ODI remains vacant.
